Looking and Looking Away: Sebald Programs on BBC Radio 3

Crystal Radio Set Made from Quaker Oats Box

BBC’s Radio 3 has scheduled a series of five programs leading up to the tenth anniversary of W.G. Sebald’s death.  Called Looking and Looking Away, the programs begin on December 5 and air at 22:45 London time.  At some unspecified date in the near future, it appears that each episode becomes available for online listening.  On his personal blog, poet and translator George Szirtes recently wrote about taping his show.

  1. Thanks for the heads-up. I just listened to the first episode online, so it appears the BBC is making them available immediately after broadcast.

    • That program already happened in January 2011. I’m not sure why it would reappear in the “coming soon” section of their website.

  7. Thanks for this! I searched for the programmes on the radio 3 website without success, not knowing their title, and thought they must have been taken down.

Oh! Have only just found out about this programme and now the links don’t seem to work. Is there another way of hearing them — did anyone download them and able to share them?
